Funding Costs

When applying for funding, municipalities or regions should always estimate the anticipated costs of setting-up and implementing an AoP programme. Estimated costs should include costs relating to the planning, development and implementation phases of short (pilot) and/or long-term (established) AoP programmes.

It is recommended when setting-up and implementing an AoP programme for the first time, to secure funding for a pilot programme to test if AoP is feasible in your local area.

Cost will largely depend on the programmes structure e.g. the number of yearly AoP programme cycles, duration of the programme, as well as the type and number of activities in each programme cycle e.g. frequency and length of activities

It should be noted, there will be extra costs associated with piloting a programme rather than financing a long-term programme, due to higher initial cost associated with setting up, developing and testing the AoP programme. Pilot programmes can also be a guide to estimating costs for the planning and implementing of longer-term AoP programmes.
