Profile:
Carsten is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark, with specialised expertise in evaluation methods and implementation research in the field of mental health promotion. From 2023 to 2025, he played a key role in the evaluation of the ‘Arts on Prescription in Baltic Sea Region’ project, supporting efforts to understand what works, for whom, and under what conditions. Furthermore, he has been actively involved in evaluating the ABCs of Mental Health partnership in Denmark since 2016.  His work supports the development of effective, evidence-informed mental health initiatives through robust evaluation and capacity building.

Profile:
Paula has extensive experience in the field of arts, culture, and health, particularly within public health initiatives. She was one of the key initiators and strategic planners behind the implementation of Arts on Prescription in Jönköping County for persons experiencing mental ill-health and/or chronic pain. In 2024, Paula achieved a PhD with the thesis “Health promoting potential of Arts on prescription – Studies of people on sick leave for common mental disorders and/or non-specific musculoskeletal pain.” The research explores participants’ experiences of the AoP programme and its effects on sense of coherence and mental health – including stress, anxiety, and depression – compared to a control group. Paula is an active member of the national Swedish network Kultur för Hälsa, the Nordic research network Nordic Arts & Health Research Network, and the Social Prescribing Swedish Network. She is also a highly regarded lecturer. Since 2023 Paula, as a member of the expert panel, has contributed to the Arts on Prescription in the Baltic Sea region project.
